The Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival – Louisiana

It seems that around this time of the year, Louisiana comes out of the winter and celebrates spring with a series of festivals that generations of families have enjoyed. One in particular that I try to attend every year is the Crawfish Festival in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. Nestled between Lafayette and Baton Rouge, Breaux Bridge swells with people from all over the state to experience the taste of crawfish cooked every way possible.

One of the beautiful things about this festival is that there is something there for everyone, including art from local artists and businesses, carnival rides and ohhhh, so much of that glorious cajun music. Being embedded in southeast Louisiana, some good cajun music will definitely get the crowd on their feet. . Check out a few of my photos from the festival this year:

2018 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival: LL Cool J/ New Orleans Tricentennial

So one of the many beautiful things about living in Louisiana is the ability to have a good time without planning it. This weekend marked the end of the 2018 JazzFest and the 300th Anniversary of the city of New Orleans. While the tickets to such an event may not seem reasonable, having access to stage acts from Anita Baker to Aerosmith makes it worth the wild!

So I didn’t see Aerosmith or Ms. Baker, but I did witness the legendary hiphop master LL Cool J rock the golden mic on JazzFest Congo Square Stage  🔥🔥🔥🔥 Here’s my backstage view:

While spending some time in New Orleans, I decided to take in some of the views I’ve grown up with and share it with you. Being from this great state, I missed it tremendously while I was in the U.S. Army. When I moved to New York, I would make sure I took a vacation to come back around this time of the year. Here’s some photos so you can take in the beauty and uniqueness of the city of New Orleans, Louisiana in the French Quarter:

My Crochet Braids Night Time Routine😴

Hi Everyone!!!!

Each and every time I make a video and post for you, I want you to know that I am absolutely so excited. I try to make videos about things that I’ve had encounters with that others have, but I may have had a different experience, enter the crochet braids with deep twist hair.

I’d seen people with this hair and thought it to be just gorgeous so I wanted to try it on my own hair. Well, when dealing with crochet braids with the deep twist hair, my stylist failed to tell me that I would have a nightly routine until AFTER we installed the braids. Here are the braids and my video I made on it:

I felt confident about my crochet braids and truly didn’t thimg having the deep twist style would be much of an issue. Well…..yes, these crochet braids are beautiful and well worth the time spent to install them. On the other hand, be prepared to have an allotted time to watch tv, listen to music, or talk to someone on the phone.

Your night-time routine for your deep twist crochet braids can easily take about 20 to even 30 minutes to finger-comb, saturate the hair and using whatever product you fell comfortable with.

I chose to use Carol’s Daughter Hair Milk sparingly and saturate my hair with water. This helped to make my curls fresh and bouncy the next day. Very little frizz throughout the day with using Carol’s Daughter Hair Milk, which is why I am recommending it. Another reason why its recommended is because its in your local drugstore like CVS.

Female Game-Heads: We are out here!!!

So let me tell you that I am a MAJOR GAME-HEAD!!!!!! I’m not afraid to admit it and I tell you, its such a unique and enchanting thing, if you are a true gamer. You see, there are several ‘types’ of game-heads out there, in which I’m sure they will not take offense.

You have the ‘Legendary Gamer’, who is old enough to remember when the first ‘The Legend Of Zelda’ came out and was absolutely blown away by the graphics, but more so by the story line. If I’m not mistaken, the first ‘Elder Scrolls’ came out a few years later.

While I am not old enough to remember nor did I even have an interest in ‘The Legend Of Zelda’, I do appreciate it as being one of the major breakthroughs in gaming. Sorry, but no, I’m not acknowledging ‘Super Mario Bros.‘, ‘Super TemcoBowl‘, or ‘Mike Tyson’s PunchOut‘ and here is the reason why: no matter what type of gamer you are, these games were bound to catch your attention because gaming on a console was still in it’s infancy stage – everyone was curious about these games.

Now, let’s fast-forward to the gaming era that I fall into: The ‘Enchanted Gamer‘. This particular gamer was not into Zelda, but got hooked when Diablo II came to PC and Final Fantasy VII was introduced to the PlayStation console. While the graphics had me completely STUNNED

there was something absolutely fascinating about picking up a game console and/or getting on the PC, knowing that I was in for a new adventure. Diablo II kept the gamer constantly on edge and even provided some of the first PvP actually worth playing! Stay tuned, I’ll continue with my love and constant devotion to gaming over the years.
