Who Are They: DHC Beauty

For the past couple years, Asian-orginated skincare products have gradually become accepted into the American beauty community….most with help of course. Let me give you a brief example:      Seen these skincare products before? Maybe in your local Ulta store or reviewed by your favorite beauty guru on YouTube? Well, this is a Korean-based company that has been introduced and accepted by Americans all over. Here’s another that I actually did not know was an Asian-based company that has spread and now has locations here in the United States:       DHC is a skincare company from Japan in which the founder, Yoshida, traveled abroad to educate himself and learn ways to fuse olive oils in Spain with herbs from Japan. He also gained additional education on skincare in Europe.      DHC has now expanded to the United States by way of California and has been apart of the mainstream skincare community for some time now.

YouTube – Allure Beauty Box

For the past 3 or four months, I can honestly say there is a love/hate relationship between myself and the Allure Beauty Box. Like that great-aunt with the terrible garlic breath that you know is going to give you an awesome present for the holidays. Or that hideous relationship that you were absolutely happy ended but you missed the kisses. Its like….urgh! From the first box that I got, there was something in there for me and something in that box that totally made me want to pack it back up, put it in my car and drop it off at one of my friends’ house as a gift. Like what’s the point?      One of the many perks of getting the Allure Beauty Box is that it exposes you to beauty and skincare companies all over the world that you probably never heard of. You also get the chance to try products that have come out in makeup stores

Berny Martin : Founder of Midwest Fashion Week

Throughout my travels in an unbiased quest to bring to my audience fashion and the unique designers behind them, my recent travels took me into the city of Chicago, affectionately known as the ‘Heart of America’. My destination in the Windy City? Midwest Fashion Week of course, which was founded and guided by Mr. Berny Martin. As a fan of Mr. Martin’s work, I have followed Midwest Fashion Week over the years as they have acquired numerous mentions in notable magazines such as IndyStar.com (USA Today), ELLE Men, and Ok! Magazine. Midwest Fashion Week not only brings forth talent and visions via the runway, but also raises money for charities and non-profit organizations.      Mr. Martin is no ordinary Haitian-born gentleman with just ‘good taste’, but an international fashion revolutionary in his own right. Notably a graduate of Purdue University, Berny Martin is also the Founder and CEO of Catou Wear, which serves on leaps and bounds beyond simply ‘made’ fashion designs.      Martin’s Catou Wear brings

NOFW 2018 – Clinton Whitney Downing

To be a native of Louisiana and finally experience New Orleans Fashion Week was like a dream come true. Coming into Fashion Week, I was clearly intimated by the location of the venues, sharing rooms with celebrities, models, designers, socialites. Attending as a blogger and not a model put my mindset in a new level of stress to ‘perform’ if you will. Being in the right position, getting the right shot, and so many other things plagued my mind – that is until I got there.      Despite it being the last night of New Orleans Fashion Week 2018, the venue was set and my destination was The Monastery. Although I am from Baton Rouge, knowing the location of the venue meant that it would not disappoint. One of the many designer’s collection that captivated me was Clinton Whitney Downing. Clinton is known for his raw eye for fashion as a designer and his forward-thinking as an
